Yesterday Sunday, February 27, 2011, 80,000 people attended the "Flight of the Angel", an extraordinary piece of bravery that is for the person selected by the organizers of the Carnival of Venice to descend along a rope from the top of the Campanile up to climb the podium at the foot of the Correr Museum in the bottom of Piazza San Marc. This year the lucky winner was Silvia Bianchini Mary was crowned in 2010. Silvia had to wear during his descent from a jacket to 12 meters long and decorated with colors of Venice's Lion of San Marco. The excess of wind forced organizers to abandon the wearing of cloak, deemed too dangerous. It is dressed in a silk suit XIX mind that Silvia has made its descent to the cheers and encouragement from the crowd. Ex-Marie not impressed by the height (about 100 m high) was even permitted to interpret an aerial ballet with grace. Arrival at ground she told us she was not afraid but was very moved to see this huge crowd watching her. She added: "I am very grateful to the Carnival of Venice after winning me at Mary's 2010 I chose this year to be the Angel." And it's so true that Silvia is an angel of kindness and grace!
