The "Adventure of the Glass" Correr Museum in Venice

"L'Avventura del Vetro". Until April 25, 2010 at Correr Museum (Piazza San Marco). Billed as the largest collection on the theme put in place after the Great Exhibition of 1982 in the Ducal Palace, the exhibition traces through three hundred works from the collections of the Museum of Murano glass, all stages of the extraordinary adventure Glass in Venice.
In four sections, one finds 1 ° glass archaeological remains of Roman cultural context, from remote regions of the classical era; 2 copies dating from the fifteenth to the seventeenth century, the golden age of Venetian products, 3 ° and the production of eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and 4 the combination of glass and design being created by the workshops of Murano.
Among the examples of glass production, there are few private collections, including the impressive collection of African beads Panini.
These collections come in part from the recent exhibition held in the Castello di Trento Buonconsiglio.
